We’re so pleased you’ve joined us for this course — it’s an important step in your journey with the Non-Violent Resistance (NVR) approach. In this short course, you’ll develop practical skills and gain a deep understanding of this key element of NVR. While this bite size course stands on its own, it represents just one part of the full NVR framework. To truly master the approach and realise its full transformative potential, it is necessary to engage with all the courses in the Loving Authority bundle. Each one addresses a different aspect of the work, and together they form a comprehensive and life- changing path Our courses are designed to equip parents and professionals with the tools to navigate even the most challenging situations—such as aggression, emotional withdrawal, and anxiety—through the proven, research-based methods of the Non-Violent Resistance (NVR) approach.

This training can be a powerful resource for anyone seeking to build confidence, clarity, and calm in their response to distressing situations. However, in situations involving significant risk—such as persistent aggression, self-harm, or serious concerns about a child’s safety or mental health—a broader, more coordinated response is essential. Because we are not directly involved in your specific circumstances, we cannot assess risk or take responsibility for any decisions or actions taken in individual situations. For this reason, it is vital that our course is used in conjunction with live professional support—such as a psychiatrist, psychologist, social worker, or qualified NVR practitioner. While not all of these professionals may be necessary in every case, effective and safe progress often requires a team approach. To support you in building that team, learnNVR has a list of international professionals trained in the NVR approach, representing a wide range of disciplines and areas of expertise. This ensures you can find the kind of support that fits your unique needs—whether clinical, therapeutic, or family-focused.
